GdS: From question marks to directors at Milan – Diaz, Giroud and Leao crucial

By Isak Möller -

An important game awaits for AC Milan at the San Siro today as they will take on Sampdoria, looking to continue their winning form. In fact, with a win, they would leapfrog Inter and Napoli in the standings.

In the last two games, the Rossoneri have really been flying high and as highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), three key players for that are Brahim Diaz, Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao.

Obviously, Leao has been good since the start of the year but Giroud has only just started to really shine, with four goals in two games. As for Diaz, he came on against Inter and changed the game with his movement, also getting an ‘assist’ for Giroud.

Therefore, they have gone from question marks at the club to directors, as the newspaper puts it. Giroud was the deputy for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Leao was too inconsistent and Diaz struggled to perform after contracting Covid-19.
