Tuttosport: Giroud needs two Milan players to provide him with a rest

AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud needs Ante Rebic and Divock Origi to provide him with a rest after playing the majority of the matches this season, a report suggests.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the French striker has played a part in all 13 of Milan’s matches this season and the last 11 matches have all been games that he has started.

Considering he recently turned 36 years old, that is not a sustainable amount of matches to be playing over the course of a tough season.

That is why he needs Rebic and Origi to make enough of an impression so that Stefano Pioli is comfortable enough to start them instead of him in certain games.

The pair have repeatedly had to stop for injuries so far this season though which means they are yet to hit any real form.

There is a chance that Rebic could start in place of Giroud against Hellas Verona on Sunday night.
