By Euan Burns -

Inter have officially confirmed that Romelu Lukaku will be absent for the match against AC Milan on Saturday evening.

The Nerazzurri confirmed the news in an official statement on their website where they explained that the Belgian striker underwent tests at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano.

This was because he suffered a muscle strain in training at Appiano Gentile on Sunday morning, the day after their 3-1 defeat against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

The tests that he underwent came back showing he has developed a sprain of his left thigh flexors and his condition will be re-evaluated at the start of next week.

That therefore rules him out of their game against Cremonese on Tuesday night and the Derby della Madonnina on Saturday night at San Siro.

Whilst Inter being without one of their key players is good news for Milan, the Rossoneri found out today that both Ante Rebic and Divock Origi against Sassuolo due to injuries.
