Journalist offers update on Milan’s management tasks: “Two will remain here”

By Ben Dixon -

Ahead of AC Milan’s trip to Australia, Peppe Di Stefano offered an update on the management’s focus over the next few days, including who will remain in Milano and who will travel to Australia for the AS Roma friendly.

Several big tasks await Milan’s managers in the next few months, and the first is appointing the new head coach, who is reported to be Paulo Fonseca. The Portuguese coach is expected to sign a two-year deal with the option of a third year.

However, a deal has not been finalised, so that is the first task that awaits the management. Things are not on hold, though, given the Rossoneri are playing a friendly on Friday against AS Roma, under new management, albeit a temporary one.

Ahead of the fixture, Di Stefano gave an update to Sky about the plans that the management have currently and the deployment of key members of the Diavolo to ensure that things continue swiftly. His words have been relayed by Radio Rossonera.

“It’s a very quick tour, Milan will arrive in Australia in 18 hours. Ibrahimovic will have a training session and a conference with coach Daniele Bonera, which is a bit of a prologue to what will happen in the coming weeks with the Under-23 team. He will speak with Davide Calabria.

“The next day there will be the match and then Milan will return to Milan, where they will be able to concentrate only on market-related matters. Even if, however, Furlani and Moncada have remained here to finalise the agreement with Fonseca. From what we understand, the way should be paved for him to become Milan’s next coach.”
