Leonardo: “A game conditioned by an inadequate referee”

By Anthony Torgrude -

Following a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Juventus, Leonardo was interviewed by Sky Sport. He did not hold back.

On the refereeing performance: “What we said to the official was between us. We are very sorry, the team did had a great performance, but then we walked away with zero points. When they play like this and then get zero points because referee errors, sorry.”

“A game conditioned by an inadequate referee in both choices and in the dialogue. The referee’s general behaviour caused reactions. This is a very displeasing situation.”

On Gattuso’s future: “What Rino said is a consequence of our relationship together. We have known each other for 20 years, he knows everything that happens. We chose to continue with Rino, we never thought to change him, there was no coach contacted.”

On purchasing Kean: “In January you can talk about 90 players and then you take two. Kean has exploded now and is going beyond our possibilities, but we talked about him.”
