Longoni: Extraordinary derby awaits as Milan will rely on Ibrahimovic to increase gap

By Isak Möller -

The derby day has arrived and it will be a very interesting clash between AC Milan and Inter. The Rossoneri have started the season very well and have a big opportunity in terms of the standings.

As Andrea Longoni highlights in his latest piece for MilanNews, a derby is always special but tonight’s clash can have even more extraordinary consequences. With a win, Milan would move ten points clear of their city rivals.

Stefano Pioli’s men will enter the pitch to win, there is no doubt about it, but even a draw would be positive for them. Perhaps this will make them play even better, as they won’t have as much pressure as Inter on their shoulders.

The absence of Theo Hernandez will be felt, but the point of reference will once again be Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The 40-year-old continues to amaze everyone and his presence is crucial, especially since he loves the derby.
