Club legend Paolo Maldini has been heavily linked with a return to AC Milan as the Chinese takeover now seems to take place. However, according to Maldini himself, there are currently no plans for a return.

In an interview, Paolo stated that: “Milan is a great love for me. However, for now, it’s not in my future. New Milan? I have a life, I’m tired of this story. Milan will always and forever be a great love for me. Again, for now, there is nothing.”

Maldini continued by talking about the departure of Berlusconi, who has decided to sell the club to a Chinese consortium.

“Berlusconi’s departure? It affects me. I arrived at Milan when there was another president and have witnessed the change of ownership.

“He [Berlusconi] has been an incredible president. The most successful and innovative in modern football.”

“I think it’s the duty of those who buy foreign clubs to go see the history of these clubs. I have always said that the president of a club cannot consider it his. Milan have millions of fans in the world who should be respected.”
