AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli could make a significant change to his attack for Sunday’s trip to face Roma, a report claims.
The Spaniard was booed when his name was read out before Sunday night’s 2-2 draw against Lecce, and he put in yet another disappointing performance.
Fans reacted angrily to his performance after the game on social media, with many claiming he should be benched and some suggesting he was at fault for Lecce’s 92nd minute equaliser.
Claudio Raimondi has told SportMediaset (via MilanNews) that not only has Suso lost his form and his place in the Spanish national team, he has also lost the faith of the Milan fans and possibly now his coach too.
The journalist added that Ante Rebic and Samu Castillejo are considered by Pioli to be the alternatives in the role.
However, there is also a chance that the head coach could field a front two of Krzysztof Piatek and Rafael Leao at the Stadio Olimpico this coming weekend with Hakan Calhanoglu behind them.
This would see Suso start on the bench in Serie A for the first time since April 2 when he was dropped against Udinese, but it perhaps shouldn’t be a surprise given the worrying statistics surrounding his start to the campaign.
