After securing the signings of Brahim Diaz and Sandro Tonali, AC Milan continue their hunt for reinforcements on the transfer market. One of the main objectives is the return of Tiemoue Bakayoko, but the club would also like to sign a defender. One of the rumoured names in this sense was that of Wesley Fofana.
The 19-year-old Saint-Étienne centre-back had a fine season in France, attracting the interest of various European clubs, with Milan included in the running. Media outlets both in France and Italy have linked the playe to a potential move for some time now.
However, it seems that Fofana has different plans for his future and is ready to snub the likes of Leipzig, Sevilla and the Rossoneri to join Leicester, who have offered 25 million euros, as per L’Equipe, as we informed you several days ago.
The young defender spoke in an exclusive interview with the same outlet (via getfootballnewsfrance.com) and expressed an evident preference of playing for Leicester, or in the Premier League in general, over any other option.
“I would be crazy to say no to Leicester. This contract could change my life. I need to protect my family by keeping them safe. The financial and sporting aspects have aligned, I am forced to say yes,” Fofana said.
