MN: Milan battling another injury crisis – six players will be out against Juventus

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will go into their game against Juventus tomorrow night battling a familiar injury crisis, with six players set to be absent.

MilanNews writes that there are at least five players are unavailable due to physical problems, which has put a real dent in the squad available to head coach Stefano Pioli ahead of the biggest test of the season in the league so far.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: The Swede is still suffering with swelling in his Achilles tendon and will not be risked by Pioli at the Allianz Stadium.

Tiemoue Bakayoko: The Frenchman sustained a calf muscle problem in the win over Lazio and will not be there against Juve, with recovery times yet to be defined.

Davide Calabria: The full-back suffered physical discomfort in yesterday’s training and did not train today. He won’t be available tomorrow night.

Rade Krunic: The Bosnian is still battling a muscle issue in his right calf that he got while on international duty, with his recovery time still to be defined.

Junior Messias: The Brazilian arrived on the last day of the transfer market from Crotone, and coach Pioli warned that he has yet to find his best physical condition. We will have to wait a few more weeks for his debut.

Olivier Giroud: The Frenchman has back pain and will miss the game against Juve, Pioli has confirmed.

  1. If Zlatan is constantly getting injured and Giroud now has back pain, that’s because they are aged. We have to trust Pelegri by playing him from the bench in tomorrows game, then starting in the following games.

  2. Why do they push these players so hard in training? Let them rest. They are playing a game every three days. It’s why the team looked so tired in the second half of the season last year. Also, why is Messias not able to play? He’s not injured, what’s the problem.

  3. I don’t believe wat this pple are saying. Ibra started from the bench against Lazio and now his injured. Giroud started from the bench and now his injured too. Wat kind of medical school staff do we have. We need backup for ibra Milan went and bought a 20yrs striker, wat a team. Pls pioli just turn Rebic to a striker and allow castillejo to start from the midfield so we can have more holding midfielders on the field.

  4. Pioli start giving Malini son some responsibility is no more a child and stop seeing him like one. How old was leao wen Milan signed him just 20yrs. Give other players the opportunity to play. Who says tomori along side with kessie in the midfield and allow Gabbia to pear kjer. Pls wise up coach.

  5. Where the f*ck is this dude messias. He was a serie A player with crotone surely he should have been ready to play from day 1. If he’s not injured, just lazy or fat we should fine him, totally unacceptable and unprofessional.

  6. that messed up. but i think it’s a chance for the rest available player. ibra, giroud will be missed. bakayoko, krunic not actually missed but with bennacer lack fitness and kessie has his issue, it also kinda bad situation for midfield. calabria may need a rest, so i think it’s unavoidable. mister pioli should consider rotating more often with how packed milan schedule this season is, just to avoid prolonged injury to the players
