Milan manager Vincenzo Montella has been using the 3-5-2 formation for the majority of this season, without any luck. Il Giornale reports that he could go back to the 4-3-3 formation, which he used last season.
The 3-5-2 formation has so far been a bust for Milan as they’ve failed to deliver, despite spending around €200m on players this summer. Yesterday, yet another disappointing result came as Milan drew 0-0 at home against Genoa. The Rossoneri’s skipper, Leonardo Bonucci, was sent off in that game and he’s expected to miss the upcoming two games for his behaviour.
Therefore, he will miss the game against Chievo on Wednesday and Juventus on Sunday. For those games, Montella is expected to use the 4-3-3 formation again, where Musacchio and Romagnoli most likely will pair up in the centre of the defence.
