MN: Pioli to deploy Saelemaekers in right-back position against Samp – the latest XI

By Isak Möller -

Milan will face Sampdoria tomorrow and it seems Stefano Pioli will make some interesting changes to the XI, finally able to rely on a strong set of players. There are still some injured, but things are looking up for the manager.

The Rossoneri desperately want to improve their record at home and they have the perfect opportunity tomorrow, also because they are in a good mood after the win against Fiorentina. Per MilanNews, there will be some changes to the XI.

Instead of Diogo Dalot, the manager is expected to deploy Alexis Saelemaekers in the right-back position. The Belgian has played there before but only once with Milan, almost always used further up the pitch. Having said that, he is indeed versatile.

The other two changes are further up the pitch as Saelemaekers’s change of position means Samu Castillejo will start at RW. After coming off the bench against Fiorentina, Ismael Bennacer will play from start alongside Franck Kessie in the tandem.

AC Milan (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma G; Saelemaekers, Tomori, Kjaer, Hernandez; Bennacer, Kessie; Castillejo, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.
