Pavoletti linked to Milan again in possible striker overhaul

By Oliver Fisher -

There are doubts about the futures of both M’Baye Niang and Carlos Bacca, meaning Milan may make significant changes in the forward department this summer.

In addition to this, there was the farewell of Mario Balotelli, while Luiz Adriano and Jeremy Menez are for from certain to stay.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan risks losing all of the above players, and having a completely new forward line to the one that brought them 37 goals this seasonm .

Alessandro Matri – a somewhat forgotten name – is due to return after a loan spell at Lazio.

He is not expected to stay too long, and so Milan would have to test the market looking for new striker.

The issue at the moment is obviously in relation to the sale of the club. At the moment, it appears the mercato is blocked until the shares are transferred or until president Berlusconi decides not to sell, meaning negotiations are almost impossible at this stage.

That doesn’t stop names being linked to the club however, and  Leonardo Pavoletti is the latest player to be linked to Milan from Genoa.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the former Sassuolo man didn’t give much away about his future, adding that he wishes to return to the Italian national team first and foremost.
