Pioli confirms Rebic is ‘not 100% yet’ as Milan prepare for clash against Verona

By Isak Möller -

Following the defeat against Lille mid-week, Stefano Pioli has a few things to think about, above all the starting eleven. He was criticised for a few of his decisions last time out and now there’s no margin for error.

Milan’s unbeaten run came to an end on Thursday and this has inevitably had an effect on the players. Hopefully, it acts more as a wake-up call than a burden, as the Rossoneri have a good opportunity to extend their lead in the standings tomorrow.

Pioli will have to do without Ante Rebic, though, at least from start as the Croatian isn’t 100% yet. Gazzetta Dello Sport initially reported that he would start on the left flank, but that won’t be the case tomorrow.

“I don’t think so, but he’s better, he’s not 100% yet but I hope to have him at the maximum after the break,” Pioli confirmed during the presser today.

By the looks of it, Rafael Leao will start on the left instead, which isn’t bad either considering that the Portuguese youngster has done well as of late. Milan fans will be hoping that he can replicate his derby performance.
