GdS: Pioli to rely on four leaders in bid to win second trophy with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli needs answers from his best players and will rely on four of his leaders for tomorrow’s Supercoppa Italiana clash against rivals Inter, a report claims.

According to what La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) have reported this morning, Pioli will rely on four leaders on the pitch tomorrow against Inter in a match that could well give him the second trophy of his tenure with the Rossoneri.

The first is the experienced Simon Kjaer, who could take Pierre Kalulu’s place alongside Fikayo Tomori in the centre of the defence after the Frenchman struggled during the draw against Lecce.

The second is Sandro Tonali, who will return to the starting line-up after he served a suspension in the game at the Stadio Via del Mare on Saturday night.

Olivier Giroud is the third leader, with the 36-year-old having return from a very positive World Cup with France (aside from defeat in the final) but is still looking for his first goal in 2023.

Finally, Davide Calabria must also stand up and be counted as the captain of the team and a player who has a very important role in balancing the side.
