Pioli praises Leao for his Rebic assist: “It’s a gesture of maturity and spirit”

Milan managed to beat Torino by seven goals to nil on Wednesday evening in what was a one-sided affair. Ante Rebic scored a hat-trick and one of his goals was assisted by Rafael Leao, who came off the bench.

The Portuguese youngster was through on goal thanks to a good pass by Soualiho Meite, who won the ball in Milan’s half. However, instead of going for goal himself, he squared it for Rebic who eventually bagged a hat-trick.

During today’s press conference, on the eve of the clash between Milan and Cagliari, Stefano Pioli was asked about this and praised Leao for it (via MilanNews). Something that the Rossoneri fans will agree on.

Do you interpret Leao’s assist for Rebic as a gesture of selflessness and maturity?

“I spoke to Leao and complimented him. Some time ago he would have interpreted the action differently. It is a gesture of maturity and spirit that is helping the team to grow a lot. He was very good,” he stated.

Rebic is expected to play from the first minute tomorrow as well while Leao will start on the bench. It remains to be seen if we will see the former Lille man on the pitch tomorrow.
