Gigio Donnarumma and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been incredibly important for Milan this season and they are both sitting on expiring contracts. An interesting summer, therefore, awaits as things stand.
Provided that his physical condition is alright, Ibrahimovic is expected to renew his deal with the Rossoneri and remain the leader of the team. As for Gigio, however, the situation is more complicated even though the goalkeeper wants to stay.
Speaking to reporters, as captured by MilanNews, agent Mino Raiola spoke about the situation. He stated that both are fine at Milan (see here), but he also commented on the overall situation as you can see below.
On the renewal of Donnarumma…
“Gigio must be left alone because he is trying to do something important for Milan and his career. The rest is done behind closed doors, without you and without anyone knowing anything or talking about it. It will be like this forever.”
On Ibrahimovic…
“If he amazed me? Nothing surprises me, I said that the only thing that could save Milan was Zlatan and so it was”.
On Ibrahimovic’s goal celebration (see here)…
“You have to ask him for this. I don’t know what his intentions are, but he is someone who improves everyone, he is altruistic and he needed Milan to return to the place where he had to go. I’m very happy for him, for Milan and for the Milan fans.”
