Sky: Milan have two names on wish list as Donnarumma talks remain difficult

By Isak Möller -

Gigio Donnarumma’s contract will expire at the end of the season and Milan are yet to reach an agreement with his agent, Mino Raiola. It would be a huge blow to lose the goalkeeper for free, of course.

However, that is the harsh reality of the situation and the Rossoneri don’t want to be caught unprepared, thus looking at potential replacements. According to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, they have two names on their wish list.

The players in question are Mike Maignan and Alphonse Areola. The former’s contract with Lille will expire in 2021 and the parties haven’t reached an agreement on a renewal. Having said this, Milan still want to keep Donnarumma.

They are trying to find an agreement with Raiola and the negotiations aren’t dead yet, meaning the youngster could still end up renewing. However, if so, it will be very interesting to see under what terms.

  1. That’s a massive drop off in quality. Sometimes it’s best to pay for quality. 10m per year doesn’t look too bad when you consider the alternatives

      1. Who’s clearly better than Gigio apart from Oblak, Courtois,Neuer and maybe DeGea? Definitely he’s the best young goalkeeper at his age. Then ask how much those guys get paid per season and realize the trouble of paying for such quality on the transfer fee then on wages and you’d see we’d spend more than 10m per season.
Part of the 10m is paying for incompetence from Maldini and Massara to not renew him before his last year of contract
