Sky: Milan hoping to have Calhanoglu back for Roma clash – the No.10’s condition

By Isak Möller -

Milan extended their unbeaten run to 21 games last night, beating Celtic in the first Europa League group stage last night. However, they don’t have time to celebrate too much, as Roma will visit San Siro on Monday.

It remains to be seen if Hakan Calhanoglu will be at Stefano Pioli’s disposal, having sprained his ankle earlier this week. The No.10 was replaced by Brahim Diaz last night and his absence was certainly noticeable at times.

According to Sky Italia’s Manuele Baiocchini, as cited by MilanNews.it, Milan are holding out hope with regards to Monday’s clash. Calhanoglu is currently working daily on an individual program at Milanello, keen on returning as soon as possible.

Best case scenario, he will be available off the bench against the Giallorossi. That being said, Diaz did well against Celtic and it isn’t a complete disaster for Pioli, who has many options for the attack now that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back.
