TMW: AC Milan ready to include Laxalt in deal for Atalanta full-back

According to the latest reports from TuttoMercatoWeb.com, AC Milan have set their sights on Timothy Castagne, who currently plays for Atalanta.

The versatile full-back, capable of playing on both sides, has impressed many this season with Atalanta, really excelling under the management of Gasperini. And of course, with success comes interest from big sides.

AC Milan are one of these, as sporting director Leonardo appreciates the player’s qualities. In fact, he’s considered as a potential starter for the Rossoneri, though there is currently tough competition for those positions.

In the event that negotiations take off, then Leonardo’s plan is to play the Laxalt card. The Uruguayan was requested by Gasperini when Spinazzola left for Juve, but the deal never materialized. Instead, Laxalt ended up at Milan where he hasn’t performed as expected.

However, Atalanta would prefer to sell Castagne without any technical counterparts, though Laxalt’s inclusion shouldn’t be ruled out as a way of lowering the Belgian’s price tag.
