TMW: Seven deadlines in 2021 for Milan – the future ambitions rest on three renewals

By Oliver Fisher -

The future direction of AC Milan rests upon the resolution of a number of different contract dilemmas, according to a report.

There is no doubt that since the resumption of football post-lockdown, the Rossoneri have been a different beast under head coach Stefano Pioli, as they are currently 19 games unbeaten.

However, there are a number of difficult situations that the management must resolve if they are to keep the current squad of players together, as TMW takes a look at.

There are the trio of Donnarumma, Calhanoglu and Ibrahimovic – who all have contracts expiring in 2021 – as does Mateo Musacchio, while Sandro Tonali has arrived on loan (but should be redeemed) as have Brahim Diaz and Diogo Dalot.

The performance of the two young talents will be essential to discuss a future agreement with Real Madrid and Manchester United respectively, but everything revolves around Mino Raiola as he controls several key clients like Donnarumma, Ibra and Romagnoli.

The deadlines for 2021 are as follows:

Gianluigi Donnarumma 2021, salary €6m net per season
Mateo Musacchio 2021, salary €2m
Hakan Calhanoglu 2021, salary €2.5m
Sandro Tonali 2021 (paid loan with option), salary €2m
Brahim Diaz 2021 (dry loan), salary €0.5m
Diogo Dalot 2021 (dry loan), salary €1m
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 2021, salary €7m
