TMW: Swap bid being prepared as Pioli asks Milan to sign €100m Fiorentina duo

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has asked the club to try and sign two players from his former club Fiorentina, according to a report.

TMW journalist Enzo Bucchioni (via MilanNews) is reporting that Pioli has named two players he would like Milan to try and sign in the upcoming window in Nikola Milenkovic and Federico Chiesa, a duo he helped launch at Fiorentina.

Pioli has in mind the ability to be able to switch to a three-man defence for which Milenkovic would be perfect, while Chiesa marries very well with the 4-2-3-1 he has been using recently.

The former does not want to renew his deal which expires in 2022 but the demand of La Viola is €40m, while Rocco Commisso would not stand in Chiesa’s way if he wanted an exit but would demand €60-70million.

Milan are preparing a package of players in return. Rafael Leao and midfielder Lucas Paquetà are two players who have been offered to Fiorentina, valued at around €40m each, while left-back Ricardo Rodriguez – valued at €5m – was also offered up.

It is an operation to be tackled, but Fiorentina are definitely aiming for cash even if they like Paquetà and Leao.
