After a rough start to the season, 5 wins, 5 losses and a draw, Milan directors Fassone and Mirabelli have given Vincenzo Montella an ultimatum in the upcoming fixtures.
Tuttosport is reporting that Fassone and Mirabelli have told Montella that if he doesn’t pick up three points on Thursday in the Europe League against AEK Athens and against Sassuolo this weekend in Serie A, he will be replaced during the winter break.
It is well known that Milan is banking on qualification for the Champions League for financial purposes. In fact, Montella has an exit clause in his contract that Milan can activate in June if they fail to qualify for the competition. It seems, however, that if Montella doesn’t pick up maximum points in the next matches, they will not wait for June and hire someone during the winter break for the second part of the season.
