Tuttosport: Milan in pole position to land highly-rated goalkeeper if Donnarumma leaves

By Isak Möller -

Milan are keen on renewing the contract of Gigio Donnarumma, which will expire at the end of the reason. However, there is no agreement in sight and the No.99 could really leave on a free transfer this summer.

Having said that, as reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have already started working on a replacement. They don’t want to be caught unprepared and are thus moving on both fronts.

Their No.1 target for the position is Lille’s Mike Maignan, one of the best goalkeepers in Ligue 1. Milan have already reached an agreement in principle with the player, who would be more than happy to make the move to the San Siro.

Furthermore, the relations between the clubs are excellent and there shouldn’t be any issues with regards to the transfer fee. The Frenchman, therefore, could replace Donnarumma in Milan’s squad for next season.
