Despite the rumours linking Alessio Romagnoli with Lazio, Milan have no intention of parting ways with their captain. In many ways, they can’t afford to lose the centre-back and thus they have a plan to lock him down.
According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), Lazio have set their sights on Romagnoli for next season. In fact, they have initiated contacts with the player’s agent Mino Raiola, although it was simply an inquiry about the situation.
In the past, the defender has never hidden his Lazio faith, having been a fan of the club ever since he was a child. Furthermore, a move to the Rome side would guarantee him a spot in the Champions League.
However, as mentioned, Milan have a plan to lock down their star. Per the newspaper, they are ready to reward their captain economically with a contract renewal. After all, this is the only way to keep Romagnoli.
