Udinese owner confirms €35m Milan and Inter target ‘will join a top club’

Amid the many transfer rumours, Udinese owner Gianpaolo Pozzo has confirmed that Rodrigo De Paul most likely will leave the club. In addition to AC Milan, city rivals Inter have also been linked with the midfielder.

Just a few days ago, Calciomercato.com reported that Milan have had more than one conversation with his agent Augustin Jimenez, and De Paul was strongly chased in January by Stefano Pioli and Paolo Maldini.

However, Udinese wanted €35m for the sale and thus ‘blocked’ his departure. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the prices will go down and it remains to be seen how much the Bianconeri will settle for. The player, meanwhile, is pushing for a sale.

In an interview with Il Gazzettino, as cited by Milanlive.it, Pozzo spoke about the Argentine’s future. Certain that he will play for a top club in the future, the owner hinted that it could happen as early as this summer.

“He has completed his maturation process, he’s of great reliability. Needless to hide that, one day, he will join a top club,” he stated.
