Tuttosport: Maignan, Reijnders, Theo and more – where Milan’s renewal negotiations stand

The negotiating table never closes for AC Milan, and a report has claimed that they are working on a number of key renewals to secure the core of the squad.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) have published a summary of where the various contract situations stand, starting with Tijjani Reijnders. He seems to be the closest at the moment to putting pen on paper, and confirmation of this came in an interview with Ziggo Sport.

“I haven’t signed yet, it still has to happen, but it seems like a good thing. It’s a nice reward that Milan wants to give me, extending the contract after a year doesn’t happen often. It’s a great club to play for,” he said.

Reijnders is very happy with the Rossoneri despite having ended up in the sights of some top European clubs, including Manchester City. The words show that he feels the appreciation from Milan, which will of course also be demonstrated through a big pay rise.

In the meantime the talks with Mike Maignan are also continuing, whose contract with the Diavolo expires in 2026. At the moment the parties are yet to find a definitive agreement on the fixed salary and bonuses, but there is confidence that an agreement will soon be reached.

The negotiations for the extension of Theo Hernandez – whose contracts also expires in 2026 – are apparently at a standstill. This is despite Geoffrey Moncada’s words a few days ago in which he painted a much more positive picture.

Discussions remain deadlocked regarding the renewals of Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi, both of whom have contracts that expire at the end of this season. The captain seems to have lost his starting spot, while the ex-Roma veteran keeps getting lengthy injury issues.

  1. No more extensions. Gabbia showed how easy it is to close the deal when both parties want the same thing. Reijnders might be the only one who’ll sign but the other? Nope. They’ll be gone in the summer.
