After a round of talks between Milan and Fenerbahçe for the potential transfer of centre-back Gustavo Gómez at Casa Milan, the meeting resulted in no change in the player’s status as a rossonero.
Milan CEO Marco Fassone and Sporting Director Massimiliano Mirabelli were presented a loan deal for the Paraguay international, with an option to buy for Fenerbahçe. However, the deal was rejected by the Milan directors.
As MilanNews.it reported on the sidelines of the hour long meeting, there was little desire among the Fenerbahçe emissaries present to speak to the news outlet.
They, however, got a quote from Augusto Paraja, the agent of Gustavo Gómez: “He does not go away, he will stay at Milan.”
Fenerbahçe remains undeterred in their pursuit of Milan players, however, and will continue on for talks regarding José Sosa, whose return to the Süper Lig looking more likely than the deal for Gustavo Gómez.
Officials from the Turkish club are due to meet Sosa later in a separate setting to discuss the terms of his move.
