It seems the saga is not over yet. Reports from Italian media suggest that there could be a stunning turnaround in negotiations with Donnarumma, which seemed to be over just a few days ago.
In fact, Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that AC Milan will meet with Donnarumma’s family tomorrow. Moreover, Mino Raiola’s brother, Enzo, is expected to fly to Poland where he will speak to Donnarumma and get to know his intentions regarding the renewal.
AC Milan have according to Di Marzio put negotiations for a new goalkeeper on hold, as there are signs that Donnarumma might sign the new contract after all. The offer is valued at around €5m per year and would keep Donnarumma in the club until 2022. However, it is still unknown if Raiola will demand a release clause in the contract, related to the Champions League,
Should Donnarumma sign the contract, then it would certainly be a stunning turnaround.
