CM: AC Milan target €100m Milinkovic-Savic, €45m Weigl to reinforce midfield

AC Milan are still interested in Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as well as a Dortmund midfielder, according to a report.

With injuries to both Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura, the Rossoneri midfield has been stretched very thin. Already lacking quality and depth, they will need to look for reinforcements in January, and the Serbia international has been targeted again as per Calciomercato.

Milinkovic-Savic was linked with a move to San Siro during the summer, but in the end no agreement was reached, with Lazio apparently after €100million.

Given his struggles so far this season, only one goal and assist in 18 matches, it is believed that his price may have nosedived.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl has emerged as an alternative to Milinkovic-Savic.

The 23-year-old has only played in seven matches across all competitions this season but has emerged one of the top midfield prospects in Europe, and has been linked with a €45m move to Arsenal.

With Gattuso giving the approval for both players, time will tell if the board can get one deal over the line.
