CM: James Rodriguez, Coutinho, Theo Hernandez, Kaio Jorge and Kessie – latest on Milan’s market

By Oliver Fisher -

A number of updates on AC Milan’s market operations has arrived, with the transfer window just beginning to heat up.

Milan have already signed Mike Maignan from Lille, Sandro Tonali from Brescia and Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea – the latter two having their loan deals made permanent – with Olivier Giroud and Brahim Diaz expected to follow in the next week.

Daniele Longo has given a round-up of the latest developments on Instagram live (via MilanPosts), starting with Philippe Coutinho. Milan like the player very much and Barcelona could even think of letting him leave for free, but the main obstacle is his €12m net per year salary.

Meanwhile, James Rodriguez was an idea from agent Jorge Mendes. However, he is at risk of remaining just an idea for Milan. Mendes will be in Milan in a few days, to talk about Rafael Leao’s future too.

Personal terms have been agreed with Giroud and an agreement with Chelsea has been reached too, so the striker should arrive in Milan in the next few days to sign his contract. However, he will join the team at the end of July after his holidays.

Milan want another striker after Giroud and the management are thinking of signing a young talent too. Kaio Jorge could be an option, but it is also possible that the player might arrive in the January transfer window.

Regarding Theo Hernandez, Longo said ‘never say never in the market’ but he is currently not for sale. The player is really happy at the club and his salary will probably be raised soon as he earns €1.5m net per year and he has shown he deserves more.

Finally, talks are currently in stand-by over the renewal of Franck Kessie. This could be an alarm bell for the Rossoneri, but the parties want to continue together. Kessie has rejected an offer of €4m net per season to renew, and Milan will try and get close to his €6m demands.

  1. As far as I know these are just stories. Milan can’t afford any of the mentioned players because of the high salary, and the saga about Kesia will end like it ended with Donnarumma and Colhanoglu.
As for reinforcements, the two have already played in Milan, as well as Diaz, who is on loan, and as for Giroud, he is disappointed because if the reinforcements are conducted in this way to bring in old and incompetent players like Mandzukic, GIROUD DOES NOT HAVE THIS AMBITION AS YOUNG PLAYERS NEITHER STRENGTH OR DESIRE AND NO SPEED BECAUSE TODAY’S FOOTBALL DEMANDS FAST FOOTBALL WITH A LOT OF RUNNING AND A LOT OF STRENGTH THAT ITALY DEMONSTRATED AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP ::: Girod unfortunately for me as well. The goalkeeper is good and I hope Maignan will live up to expectations. But Milan should bring in some serious footballers because this is nothing so far. Fans are looking for big names like Milan, such as Ikone, Sanchez, Belloti, Pessina, Vlasic, Insinge, Berardi and many many others … And that Giroud is not a reinforcement for serious things if Milan wants to do in the Champions League and Serie A

  2. They should just give Theo $5m and renew him for 6years before it’s too late since that Leonardo has set his wizard eyes on him he won’t stop till he gets him for PSG
