CM: Tonali won’t be the last to leave as Milan want €60m from several sales

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan believe that they can raise an additional €60m in sales after Sandro Tonali’s move to Newcastle United, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, there are at least six players identified by Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani that they believe should not included in the project moving forward and who would allow a budget saving of around €30m between depreciation and gross wages.

Then there are potential opportunities to cash in on players like Charles De Ketelaere after the ‘great tactical misunderstanding’ inherited from last season and following a poor U21 European Championship with Belgium.

He has a residual value of €30m on the books and there does not seem to be anyone willing to pay that amount at present, which is why Milan is evaluating whether to give the 22-year-old a second chance or to opt for a loan solution so he can play and grow.

Moncada and Furlani are particularly attentive to the situations of Ante Rebic and Divock Origi who disappointed last year. The Croatian is under contract with Milan until 2025 and has a €6m weight on the books.

He recently rejected a proposal from Saudi Arabia, while Besiktas are also keen but are frightened by the €3.5m net salary that he receives currently, and they are only offering a loan deal. Origi earns €4m net until 2026 and has so far received only a few vague enquiries from Saudi Arabia.

With Luka Romero and at least one quality signing on the right such as Christian Pulisic and/or Samuel Chukwueze (it is not excluded that both arrive), Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers are also players potentially on the market too.

The Brazilian is under contract until 2024 and has a weight of €4.5m on the accounts, while the Belgian – who has admirers in the Bundesliga – is not happy with a bit-part role and could depart for €10-15m.

Yacine Adli was bought in summer 2021 for €8.5m and played just 140 minutes in the league. Pioli has made it clear he does not trust him so loan proposals are being evaluated – such as Salernitana – as well as the idea of a permanent sale.

Finally, Moncada and Furlani also work on finding a new club for Fode Ballo-Touré and Mattia Caldara. The Senegalese full-back is wanted in France and Germany and has a good chance of leaving, while for the Italian defender his gross salary is €2.2m and he could have his contract (expiring in 2024) ended early.

  1. If the coach doesn’t want to put work on and improve his players the player will not provide what the coach wants . That’s for pioli and he’s unwillingness to help adli improve. Also for some players that can play and help the team in different position like CDK salamaekers adli. But if the coach doesn’t want to put the work on then the team will suffer. If the sell adli that makes the management and the coach look bad as many other teams and coaches looked bad like salah KDB were at Chelsea and sold immediately without helping them or bonucci were inter and sold him again immediately at last ibrahimovic in Barca that play in wrong position

    1. For you Adli is the next big thing, god knows why, he hasnt shown anything

stop hating on Pioli for this random player who no one wants

        1. Try to read milanelo2000’s comment and say that again.

This guy clearly hating Pioli and blaming every single bad thing happen to Pioli.

          1. It’s not true tho all I’m saying is Pioli doesn’t take risks implement players to correct/ best position if the team doesn’t really needed to and thats kinda wrong especially when you know he will not play good. Also Pioli says that he wants creative attacking midfielder but at the same time on pitch you don’t see that . CDK in club brugge as CAM it was the position with the least appearances that means he doesn’t have enough experience as CAM and the most I think was CF and Second it was LW what that means ? That Pioli putting him on the wrong position all this time. If he was winger or CF and adli he’s clearly a creative attacking midfielder but pioli some reason doesn’t wanna have creative attacking midfielder even tho that’s what his formation needs

          1. Yes. Yes he did. Do you remember how many times we won at the last breath of the game? It wasn’t so much that Milan won, it was more that Inter lost.

      1. Adli arrives in the summer…has a very impressive pre season, in fact a stand out pre season…what more can he do?

You literally don’t understand football do you…Pioli is an average coach, if you think he’s in any way better than average..again you don’t understand football. Roberto Di Mateo won a champions league, does that make him a great manager?

It’ll be interesting to see how he does with no Ibra In the dressing room

    2. Nice talk, pioli is not a coach that build players and his coaching mentality is too poor. This guys are good like Adli this guy just need a playing time.He prefer to used players that are tired to the end of the games.i just dont like his coaching mentality. When players are not performing, it a shame on the coach. There is room for rotation of position.look at the like of jose,Arteter, pep

  2. Selling the deadweight would be a big positive and the management should rightly be praised if they are able to get anywhere near these figures quoted.

So far Cardinale has appeared arrogant, and the new era started on the back foot with the Milan fanbase but this would go some way of showing they actually have a smart /sensible strategy going forward.

  3. “there are at least six players identified by Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani that they believe should not included in the project moving forward”

    I thought Pioli has a voice…. 🤔

    1. Of course Pioli does.. they’re now all collaborating in harmony…like peas in a pod…like tandem bikes but for 3 people…
Pioli must have had a say now unlike before when Maldini and Massara just went and bought those six players without input from anyone 🙃😅

    2. I must admit that article true about CDK , great misunderstanding tactical , he is false nine & SS while coach dont need that position. From the first time that rumour i dont know why they buy CDK . He cannot even perform in euro u21 after belgium coach play him as AMF ,RW and SS in 3 match . Loan him to other serie A club like atalanta, monza or salernitana maybe good option to see his development in serie A

      1. Right!

Even sempremilan have a data about his heatmap which basically say every attacking position but AM… there is no heat signature at AM… Last summer I was confused when Pioli said he view CDK as trequarista, I actually thought he was signed as RW while Adli will be the AM. How could Moncada recommend him as AM to Maldini???

  4. Lol, good luck getting 60m for that lot!

Not bad players but some crazy valuations there for players who aren’t playing first team games.

  5. Come On Coach Pioli… And Milan…
Adli is still young and he had a basic as a playmaker and if u give him a chance to playing more, he will be a midfielder Maestro.
Let him grow up, or just give him on dry loan to teams like Sasuolo, Fiorentina (middle team position in league table).
