Ismaal Bennacer is set to become Milan’s latest signing, only finalising the details on his contract. Gianluca Di Marzio has explained what will come after that.
Di Marzio reports that after Milan have signed Algerian midfielder Ismaël Bennacer, they are setting sights on signing a defender and a midfielder.
The journalist reported last week that the Rossoneri have set a side an “important budget” for a centre-back signing this summer, with the names most recently reported being Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren and Schalke’s Matija Nastasic.
On the midfield front, Jordan Veretout’s name keeps being reported. Milan have been keen on Fiorentina’s french midfielder all summer, but have a hard time agreeing a fee with Fiorentina for him. The midfielder himself is interested in joining Milan, per Di Marzio.
Milan’s latest offer is reportedly €15m plus Lucas Biglia, but Fiorentina is not convinced by the offer. On top of that, they face competition from Roma who reportedly have a €3m per season contract on the table for him.
