Di Marzio: Barcelona in pole position to beat PSG to free transfer of Milan star

By Isak Möller -

Gigio Donnarumma has decided to leave Milan once his contract expires at the end of June and the Rossoneri have already announced his replacement in Mike Maignan. Now, the No.99 has to choose his new club.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking live on Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Barcelona are in pole position to sign Donnarumma this summer. They need to solve their FFP issues, but they are still the most likely destination for the youngster.

Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation as they have followed Donnarumma with great interest for a very long time. Juventus, meanwhile, would need to sell Szczesny and are thus currently in the background of the race.

Either way, it’s been confirmed that Donnarumma’s adventure with the Rossoneri has come to an end after what has been some successful years, at least for the goalkeeper himself. Less so for the team, not counting this past season.
