MN: Milan welcome eight players back to Milanello as preseason work ramps up

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan played their first friendly of the summer yesterday at Milanello as they beat amateur side Lemine Almenno 3-0, but several key players were missing.

It was a good opportunity to see several young players in action as well as Yacine Adli – who stole the show with his performance in the first of three 20-minute periods – plus Tommaso Pobega and a few Primavera stars too.

However, attention will now turn to Saturday’s game against Bundesliga side FC Köln in Germany as it should be a more authentic test against another top flight club, and some players are now back in training that can be considered real difference makers.

MilanNews reports that Pierre Kalulu, Alessandro Florenzi, Sandro Tonali, Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan, Davide Calabria and Ismael Bennacer met today at Milanello and are ready to get their preseason preparations underway. It is not said if they will feature this weekend against the Bundesliga side.
