Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has been speaking after his side’s penalty shoot-out win against Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup.
He stated that: “We played a great match and I’m very satisfied as we put Bayern in great difficulty. This is a good place to start but we must keep working hard and keep improving.”
He continued: “It was a good game against a tough opponent. The thing that pleased me the most was the sacrifice, you could see that we grew on the field by sacrificing ourselves. This is a group that wants to do great things and our objective us to play attractive football that we can take from the training field to the stadium.”
“However, it’s the performances at this stage that is important, and not the results. We have suffered and managed to overcome this and this has been particularly satisfying.”
