CM: Revolution in attack expected this summer at Milan – several players at risk

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s attacking department simply hasn’t yielded the numbers hoped for this season and that is why outgoings are expected in the summer, a report claims.

As Calciomercato.com report, Napoli have scored 64 goals this season after 27 games, with Inter on 47 and Milan on 44. The Victor Osimhen and Kvara Kvaratskhelia pairing has contributed to 33 goals in 27 games played in the top flight, while Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud have combined for 16, and the total only rises to 21 when throwing in Charles De Ketelaere, Ante Rebic and Divock Origi.

At the moment, the only certainty in the department is Giroud and talks are underway for the renewal of his contract expiring in 2023, while on the Leao front the next few weeks will be decisive as the obstacle is still the €15m fine to be paid to Sporting CP. However, a sale cannot be ruled out.

The same also applies to Rebic and Origi, who seem more likely to leave than stay at present, while the permanent signing of Brahim Diaz seems complicated. To take his place will be De Keteleare who will be trusted, but some signings will be needed too.

  1. Victor Osimhen by himself has more goals than our whole attacking department.
And I bet many would say get rid of them all and bring new group in. Even if you bring Haaland, prime benzema , Lewandowski, it won’t make a difference because of how putrid our midfielders are. Our midfielders create absolutely nothing.
Sign a whole new group of midfielders and have the current starters being their backups, especially Bennacer. Milan finished 2nd and then won a scudetto with Bennacer playing just a little bit over 1000 minutes.
Neither he nor Tonali are starting caliber players on a big team, no matter how much our fans wanna glorify and overhype them.
Our issue is in the midfield. You fix the midfield and the goals will start flowing

    1. Are you kidding? Milan midfielders created a lot of chances but Giroud, Leao, and Origi wasted most of them. Even CDK can’t scores an easy crossing with his head for fvck sakes!

Milan need one high quality striker because what they have right now are not enough. Period.

      1. They need a new fresh number 9, a right winger and an alternative for Leao.

        Maignan
        Kalulu Thaiw Tomori Theo
        Tonali/ Krunic Bennacer
        new RW CDK new LW
        new ST
This could be a perfect team for milan.

    2. Lol midfield is not great this year but that’s not the issue. Issue has been that we have an inconsistent star player, our best striker is in his late 30s and the right side and attacking mids we have are serie b levels… we also have no depth there and nobody we can bring in to change a game. Yes we need 1 more quality mid but the attack is by far the biggest joke on this team and 100% the reason along with Pioli and management for our failures this year.

    3. “Even if you bring Haaland, prime benzema , Lewandowski, it won’t make a difference because of how putrid our midfielders are. Our midfielders create absolutely nothing.”

This is what I’ve been saying for ages. Even Haaland would fail to score 10 goals in this team.

  2. Some guys are deluded…

I would write; fu*k Leao, Rebic and Origi. Sell them for any fee. They didn’t prove themselves. Some on the pitch and another on contract negotiations.

    Sell!!!

Bring fresh players, who want to play for Milan, run, assist, and score, no matter for what salary they play.

Every season should be competitive for our players who needs to give best of them on pitch.
