Sky: Latest on the condition of Mandzukic, Rebic, Calhanoglu, Bennacer, Ibra, Tonali and Theo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are getting closer to being able to welcome back a number of key performers for what is a crucial stretch of games.

According to the latest from Sky Italia (via MilanLive), Mario Mandzukic is close to recovery and the Croatian striker returned to training out on the field, suggesting that he could play a part in games again soon.

The medical staff are awaiting news related to the new checks that Hakan Calhanoglu, Ismael Bennacer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic had, with the trio having undergone treatment at Milanello today. The hope for Pioli is to get the first two back for the match against Napoli. The Swede, on the other hand, has targeted the Europa League return leg against Manchester United.

Theo Hernandez and Ante Rebic should feature against the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Thursday as their problems are not muscular in nature, so they should soon be back with the group.

In the next four games – before the break for internationals – Milan will face off against Manchester United twice in Europe and against Napoli and Fiorentina in Serie A.
