Last night, MilanNews.it revealed that Atalanta have sent an official request to Inter and Milan in an attempt to play their Champions League games at the San Siro next season.
The Bergamo side’s stadium is currently undergoing renovation, forcing them to play their games at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium. However, for Champions League games, the team has requested to play at San Siro in order to increase the capacity.
Yesterday, Atalanta communicated their request to Inter and Milan, who both will have to come back with their stance on the matter. Only then will a decision be taken, along with the city council.
As learned by Vito Angele of SempreMilan.com, the Rossoneri are currently reflecting on the matter. However, as of now, the answer is ‘no’. In the coming hours, more updates are expected on the situation as Atalanta want an answer pretty soon.
