MN: Updates on Milan’s six injured players ahead of training resuming today

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli decided to give the AC Milan squad two days of rest on Sunday and Monday, but the team will reconvene at Milanello today.

MilanNews have given an update on the injury situation that Pioli will encounter as preparations will begin at the training complex ahead of the resumption of Serie A action when Milan face Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Saturday night.

Davide Calabria is absolutely fine and therefore will be almost certainly in the starting line-up, while Sandro Tonali is also expected to participate in the game despite leaving the Italy camp early due to a muscle injury.

Ante Rebic could be back in the squad, as either today or tomorrow the Croatian will have new tests done after several weeks out due to severe back pain that was being caused by a small hernia, but either way he is close to returning.

Mike Maignan will remain out for a month and will be replaced by Ciprian Tatarusanu in the league and Champions League, while Theo Hernandez also risks missing the games against Chelsea and Juventus, but will do everything to get back against the Bianconeri.

Finally, regarding Divock Origi, progress is being made in the elimination of tendon inflammation that has slowed him down a lot in this start to the season, but it is not mentioned if he will play any part at the weekend.
