After completing two new signings in Hakan Calhanoglu and Andrea Conti, AC Milan are looking to improve their squad even more with a statement signing.
Today’s edition of La Repubblica suggests that the statement signing could involve Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez. The Rossoneri have a great relationship with the Colombian’s agent, Jorge Mendes, who helped bring Andre Silva to Milan earlier last month. Milan have reportedly discussed Rodriguez during their previous meetings with Jorge Mendes, and the agent remains in touch with the San Siro side.
However, there is an obstacle. Real Madrid have slapped a €70-75m price tag on Rodriguez. Not only that, but Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the player’s services.
Should Milan decide to move for the midfielder, then they will have to rely on their great relationship with Jorge Mendes, who potentially could lower Real Madrid’s asking price, as well as lowering Rodriguez’ wage demands.
