AC Milan 0-0 Atalanta: Player Ratings

By Ahmed Khalifa -

Starting XI:

Donnarumma (6.5) – The young goalkeeper pulled off some fine saves in the match and kept his 6th clean sheet of the season for the Rossoneri.

Abate (6.5) – A true captain’s performance by Ignazio Abate, who defended well and created chances in attack down the Rossoneri right flank.

Paletta (7) – A fine performance from the Argentine-Italian veteran saw him help the Rossoneri keep a clean sheet with some good pieces of defending.

Romagnoli (7 MOTM) – Alessio put in a great performance at the back for the Rossoneri, helping them to keep a clean sheet at home.

Antonelli (6) – Getting his first start since September 11, Luca Antonelli put in a good performance and came close to scoring after hitting the woodwork.

Kucka (6.5) – The Slovak was missed in midfield against Roma and showed what he can add to it. He came close to scoring and assisting and showed some skill in attack.

Bertolacci (6.5) – We all thought it was a big gamble to play him in the regista role but Andrea Bertolacci put in a decent performance filling in for Manuel Locatelli.

Pašalić (5.5) – Yes it was foggy, but the Croatian was a ghost in the first half and didn’t do much in the second half. It was a lacklustre performance by Mario.

Suso (6) – A good performance by the Spaniard, who put in a few good crosses and made some good pieces of play. He just lacked a goal or an assist.

Lapadula (6) – The Italian had a few chances here and there but couldn’t get himself a goal this time. He was offside quite a lot too.

Bonaventura (6.5) – Playing against his former club, Giacomo came close to scoring numerous times and was one of the best players on the pitch.

Substitutes:

De Sciglio (6) – Mattia came on to make his 100th Serie A appearance with the Rossoneri and put in a good 15 or so minutes with some good passes and movement.

Bacca (N/A) – Back from injury, the Colombian came on to try and snatch the 3 points for the Rossoneri and came close to doing so with a nice attacking move.

Niang (N/A) – Benched after poor performances in the previous matches, the Frenchman came on to try and get the win for the Rossoneri, but didn’t really impress.

The Coach:

Montella (5.5) – Vincenzo Montella came into the match with a good starting 11, though his substitutions were not too good. De Sciglio offers less in attack than Antonelli and Bacca and Niang came on a bit too late.
