With the window all set to shut on Monday at 20:00 CEST, we at SempreMilan will guide you through the final few hours of the summer mercato.
16:07 CEST – Tumbleweeds
According to TMW’s Marco Conterio, there’s a chance Milan might not even get Antonio Rudiger. It’s looking more and more like being a quiet day after all…
@TuttoMercatoWeb

15:35 CEST – A familiar face
This is a strange one. Our new centre-back? 😂
👀 Tommaso Pobega arrives at Casa Milan, the reason is not yet known. Maybe he left something at San Siro last night?

15:25 CEST – Rudiger in demand
According to the latest from Sky (via MilanNews), Roma are now in for Rudiger too. But only if they fail to land Smalling.
Anyone else getting worried that Milan might not get a defender in? 🤔
15:00 CEST – Nobody knows what is going on
We’ve reached that point where the journalists are not on the same page. Longo says Milan are going to try again for Antonio Rudiger, but Di Marzio reckons his wages are too high.

Di Marzio to Sky on Rudiger-Milan:
"No I dont think so, it’s a very difficult deal because Rudiger has a high salary, so it's very very difficult."

14:30 CEST – Short-lived saga ends
That appears to be the end of that then. Daniele Longo and Anto Vitiello are both reporting that Kabak to Milan is off due to the excessive demands of the Bundesliga side.
Intermediario #Kabak informa @cmdotcom che è saltata la trattativa con il #Milan

14:10 CEST – Quiet before the storm?
Things have gone a bit quiet on most fronts now, with the Laxalt to Celtic move awaiting developments, while Anto Vitiello of MilanNews is reporting that Milan have seen a bid for Simakan rejected and they face a race against time to get a new bid in.
Secondo quanto filtra dallo staff di #Simakan la prima offerta del #Milan allo Strasburgo non è stata accettata, serve un rilancio in tempi brevi. Il giocatore ci spera e spinge

12:45 CEST – Confirmation arrives
We spoke to the agent of Mohamed Simakan and asked him if his client has indeed agreed a deal with Milan. His response: ‘Yes’. Read more here.
12:20 CEST – Movement at last!
We love a bit of deadline day drama, and reports from France are suggesting that Milan have agreed terms with Mohamed Simakan of Strasbourg and have also submitted an official bid.

11:54 CEST – Some confidence…
Sifting through this morning’s Italian papers finds that both il Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport believe Milan can get a deal for Kabak done. The player wants the move and it could be concluded at €18-20m.
11:32 CEST – ANOTHER Primavera signing
Milan have deposited the contract of a young midfielder who will embellish the youth sector, according to MilanNews. The player in question is Wilgot Marshage, who will arrive permanently from IFK Lidingö.
11:12 CEST – Double Primavera swoop
Well, it’s not the first team transfer news were were hoping for, but Daniele Longo has confirmed that Coli Saco of Sochaux and Filip Pobi of Dinamo Zagreb will be joining Giunti’s Primavera.

11:08 CEST – Cold water poured
Just as it seemed Rudiger to Milan was gaining steam, Fabrizio Romano has urinated on the proverbial bonfire. He claims that there is ‘nothing advanced’ and that Spurs in fact remain keen.
Chelsea will announce that Tiemoué Bakayoko is joining Napoli on loan and are in talks with Inter for Victor Moses [on loan too].
Nothing advanced for Emerson Palmieri to Juventus [he’s not close] and Toni Rüdiger to AC Milan [Spurs considering him just as backup option] 🔵 #CFC

10:52 CEST – From temporary to permanent
Remember the loan deal we announced yesterday? Well there’s already talk of it becoming permanent. Same with Brahim Diaz. Read more here.
10:38 CEST – Rudiger gaining steam
An update arrives from the reliable MilanNews. The Kabak deal is on the rocks as Schalke want €25m, but Rudiger is a viable track and the player has said yes to Milan. Read more.
10:27 CEST – Defender pursuit heats up
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reckon that Milan still have hope of wrapping up the Ozan Kabak deal as there is a €5m difference between offer and demand.
If that doesn’t work out, however, the Rossoneri management are ready to try and sign Rudiger on loan with an option to buy.
10:20 CEST – No striker arriving
Il Corriere della Sera seem pretty convinced that Milan will not be signing a striker before the window shuts due to the options currently available. Is that the right move? Comment below.
10:05 CEST – Kabak no, Rudiger yes?
Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com is reporting that Rudiger is a more viable track than Kabak at the moment given that there is little time to close the deal for the latter, with the formula and figures involved. Rudiger is the alternative.
Meanwhile, Dean Jones of Bleacher Report is reporting that Chelsea are happy to let Rudiger join Milan, because they really do not want him to end up at rivals Spurs.
09:52 CEST – Soumare to Milan?
This one has come as a bit of a surprise. Soumare has been linked with Milan a fair bit already this weekend, but sources in France suggest Lille are trying to force him to join the Rossoneri. Read more here, and we’ll keep our eyes on this one…
Boubakary Soumaré is on the market in the final hours of this transfer window, despite his desire to stay at Lille – continued pressure from the board – AC Milan are the favourites – full story. https://t.co/3zmDMVoJEq
